How To: Beat Cid Raines in Final Fantasy XIII

Cid Raines has always been a formidable foe in the FInal Fantasy series. This video will show you exactly how to beat him in FInal Fantasy XIII.

Well what can I say about this guy apart from WOW he is a pain in the ass. He has three different styles of play that he switches between. They are 1 offensive: he will use a range of different attacks 2 defensive: he will use guard to fend off all attacks 3 Recovery: he will remove status aliments and heal himself. For the first half of the battle he will tell you what mode he is in but then he stops for the second half. He can be effected by slow and curse so if you have them then switch to even odds and use them on him you should also have hope buff your party. When cid is in his offensive mode use the delta attack paradigm and have your sentinel take the brunt of the damage. His defensive mode is your chance to build up his chain gauge a bit with relentless assault or heal your party and reapply buffs. At any point during the fight he could use his metamorphosis ability and use the Seraphic ray attack that will dish out some serious damage to your party. When you are hit by this use the Solidarity paradigm to heal and draw his attacks of your party members. Once he is staggered he can be launched rendering him unable to attack if you get your attacks right and juggle him this would help you out a lot. During this fight I also summoned Odin to help me out a bit this is useful if it looks like your going down as once Odin is gone your party will be at 100% health.
